The Varsity Baseball team kicked off their season opener in impressive fashion, facing Elder at Wright State University's Ron Nischwitz's Stadium on Saturday. Despite the cold weather and windy conditions, the Elks remained focused and determined, securing a convincing 9-1 victory over Elder.

Right from the start, the Elks took control of the game, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning. They continued to build on their lead throughout the game, showcasing their strength and skill on the field. Leading the charge was Senior Jaydon Benson, who delivered a strong performance on the mound. Benson pitched for 5 innings, earning the win, while Junior Noah Schoen closed out the last two innings for the Elks.

On the offensive side, Junior Josh Miller, Junior Jackson Clark, and Sophomore Cam Weckesser stood out, each recording 2 hits to help propel the Elks to victory. Despite a setback for the JVB Team, who lost to Elder 7-4, the JVA Team had a successful outing, beating Elder on the road with a score of 11-6.

The Elks wasted no time and are already gearing up for their next challenge. They will be back in action on Monday, March 25th, at Memorial Stadium on the campus of Indiana University. The Varsity team is set to face Grove City, IN, at 4 pm, while the Varsity B team will take on Grove City, IN, at 7 pm.
