The Varsity Softball team kicked off their season in impressive fashion down in Pigeon Forge, TN, on Thursday. Facing off against Xaverian High School from NY, the Lady Elks showcased their skills and determination, turning a close 1-1 game into a decisive 11-1 victory in just 5 innings.

Leading the charge for the Lady Elks was freshman Natalie Carr, who had an outstanding performance, going 2 for 3 at the plate with a home run and driving in 5 runs. Senior Hayley Arnold also made an impact, going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Sophomore Riley Bakan contributed with a 1 for 2 performance and 2 RBIs, while freshman Lillie Hopf added a home run and 2 RBIs in her 1 for 3 outing. On the mound, senior Hayley Arnold secured the win with 5 strikeouts, showcasing her pitching prowess.

Despite the JV team facing a tough challenge against Hortonsville, WI, and losing 15-4 in their first game, both teams are back in action today at 1 pm in Pigeon Forge, TN. The Lady Elks will continue to participate in the Cal Ripken Spring Training Experience today, with the JV team taking on Salem, OH, and the Varsity team facing Jefferson County, TN, both at 1 pm. The teams are set for a third game on Saturday before returning home, aiming to build on their early-season success and continue their strong performance on the field.
