Elks Baseball Program Competes at Indiana University Over Spring Break

The Elks Baseball program embarked on an exciting journey over Spring Break, traveling to Indiana University to compete in a fantastic facility against formidable opponents from Grove Center, IN. Despite facing tough challenges, the teams showed resilience and determination throughout the weekend.

In the varsity matchup against Grove Center, IN, the Elks put up a strong effort but fell short, losing 8-3. Junior Tyler Otto took the loss on the mound, while senior Karson Adkins delivered a shutout inning. The offense was led by junior Andrew Erwin, who contributed with an RBI, and junior Josh Miller, who scored a run. With this result, the varsity team's record stands at 1-1, highlighting their competitive spirit early in the season.

On the Varsity B side, the Elks faced a similar tough opponent in Grove Center, losing 10-0 in 5 innings. Junior Jackson Clark showcased solid pitching performance with 3 innings of no runs allowed. The offense saw contributions from sophomores Ty Skidmore and Luke Maciejewski, each recording a hit. Despite the loss, the Varsity B team remains eager to improve, with their record now at 0-1.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the varsity team is set to host Massilon Jackson at Booster Park at 11 AM, while Varsity B will take on Massilon Jackson B at 2 PM, offering opportunities for redemption and growth on their home turf. Additionally, the 9th team will be in action, facing Chaminade at Howell Field at 11 AM, showcasing the depth and talent across the Centerville Elks Baseball program.
