Boys Track & Field Has Great Opening Weekend

The Boys Track & Field Team showcased their skills on Saturday at the highly competitive Pickerington North Stingel Invite, securing an impressive 4th place finish. Led by standout athletes Soso Anosike, Daniel Emmert, and Lucas Melzer, the team delivered remarkable performances throughout the event.

Soso Anosike demonstrated his prowess by claiming victories in both the High Jump and the 300M High Hurdles, showcasing his versatility and athleticism. Daniel Emmert displayed his endurance and speed with a 2nd place finish in the 1600M run and a 3rd place finish in the 3200M run, highlighting his consistent performance in distance events. Lucas Melzer contributed significantly to the team's success, securing 3rd place in the 800M run and anchoring the 4x400M Relay team composed of Ben Cannon, Simon Young Link, and Charlie Abate to a 2nd place finish.

The team also celebrated the achievement of freshman Will Deel, who broke the freshman school record in the 100 meters. Previously held by Michael Melchor at 11.47, Will Deel set a new record of 11.34 on Saturday, showcasing his talent and potential for future success.

On Friday night, the Boys Track & Field Team dominated the Springboro JV Meet, clinching first place and further solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the track and field circuit.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for the Centerville Boys Track & Field Team, demonstrating their dedication, skill, and determination to succeed in every event they compete in.
