The Varsity Baseball team showcased their skill in a thrilling match against Northmont at home on Friday, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory in 8 innings. Junior pitcher Josh Miller played a pivotal role, earning the win on the mound, while Senior Jaydon Benson delivered an impressive performance, pitching 5 strong innings.

The game's decisive moment came from Senior Karson Adkins, whose game-winning hit brought in Sophomore Colten Burleson, sealing the victory for the Elks. With this win, the varsity team's record improves to 9-4 overall and an impressive 6-2 in the GWOC, positioning them alone in 2nd place, just one game back from the top spot.

While the varsity team celebrated their hard-earned win, the Junior Varsity (JVA) baseball team faced a tough match against Northmont, resulting in a 9-7 loss. Despite this setback, the JVA team maintains a strong record of 9-2 for the season. On the other hand, the Junior Varsity B (JVB) baseball team had a successful doubleheader against Northmont, winning 15-0 and 11-4, bringing their season record to 7-4.

Looking ahead, the Elks are gearing up for a showdown against 1st place Fairmont on Monday, April 22nd. The Varsity team will host Fairmont at Booster Park, while the JVA team travels to Fairmont High School, and the JVB Baseball team heads to Indian Riffle Park beside Kettering Middle School. All games are scheduled to start at 5 pm, promising an evening of intense baseball action as the Centerville Elks continue their quest for success in the GWOC.
