Softball Keeps Pace In The GWOC

The Varsity Softball team continued their winning ways with a convincing 9-0 victory over Wayne on the road this Wednesday. The Lady Elks showcased their skill and determination, delivering a standout performance that highlighted their talent on the diamond.

Leading the charge for the team was Senior Allison McGuire, who went 1 for 2 at the plate and contributed 2 RBI's to the team's success. Senior Natalie LaDue also made a significant impact, going 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Junior Ava Castle and Junior Morgan Franklin both went 1 for 2, further bolstering the team's offensive power.

On the pitching front, Senior Hayley Arnold was a force to be reckoned with, securing the win on the mound with an impressive 18 strikeouts. Arnold's dominant performance helped shut down the opposing team's offense, showcasing her skill and composure under pressure.

With this victory, the varsity team's record now stands at an impressive 18 wins and 4 losses overall, with a remarkable 10-2 record in the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC). The Elks remained tied with Beavercreek for the league title.

Notably, the Junior Varsity (JV) team also had a successful outing, securing a dominant win against Wayne with a score of 17-1, further highlighting the depth of talent within the Centerville Softball program.

Looking ahead, the varsity team is set to face off against Miamisburg tonight at 5 pm, where they aim to continue their winning ways and build upon their season's success. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as the Lady Elks bring their skill, determination, and team spirit to the field once again.

As the season progresses, the Centerville Varsity Softball team remains a formidable force in the league, driven by a passion for the game and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of play.
