The Lady Elks Softball team secured a resounding victory against Mount Notre Dame in their final preparation game before the OHSAA Postseason Tournament begins. The Lady Elks showcased their prowess on the field, claiming a decisive 10-0 win over Mount Notre Dame in just six innings.
Leading the charge for Centerville were standout players who delivered stellar performances. Freshman Lillie Hopf shone brightly, going 2 for 3 with a powerful home run. Senior Ardyn Hopf, displaying her experience and talent, also went 2 for 3 with an impressive home run. Additionally, sophomore Riley Bakan contributed significantly, going 2 for 4 and adding another home run to the team's tally.
The pitching mound belonged to senior Hayley Arnold, who delivered a masterful performance with 12 strikeouts, shutting down Mount Notre Dame's offense and securing the shutout victory for Centerville.
The team is now 21-4 on the season. With such a strong performance under their belts, the team now eagerly anticipates the start of the OHSAA Postseason Tournament.
Centerville's journey in the tournament kicks off with a home game against Fairborn on Wednesday at 5 pm.
