We recently hosted our 48th Annual Athletic Scholar Athlete Award Ceremony, a remarkable event held on Mother's Day in the Performing Arts Center here at Centerville High School. The ceremony shone a spotlight on the dedication and achievements of 316 junior and senior student-athletes who demonstrated outstanding performance in both academics and sports.
To qualify for this prestigious recognition, students had to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher, adhere to the Co-Curricular Code throughout the school year, and earn a varsity letter as a player, manager, cheerleader, or student sports medicine aide during the current academic term.
The evening commenced with a heartwarming tribute to our 3-sport senior athletes, who were honored with customized blankets, symbolizing their hard work and commitment as they embark on their next life adventures.
Two exceptional seniors stood out among the 3-sport athletes this year:
Ella Mikesell, who excelled in Football Cheer, Basketball Cheer, Competition Cheer, and Gameday Cheer, showcasing her versatility and dedication across various seasons.
Ally Zart, who showcased her talents in ATSA (Fall), Diving, and Track & Field, highlighting her dedication and skills in multiple athletic disciplines.
