Varsity Baseball Stays Alive with a 4-3 Victory Over Monroe

The Varsity baseball team won an exciting game against Monroe, 4-3, at Wright State University on Friday night. This victory puts the Elks at 15-12 for the season and moves them into the District Semi-Final. They will face the top-seeded Springboro team at Springboro on Tuesday, May 21st at 5 pm.

The game was intense from start to finish. Junior Josh Miller earned the win on the mound after taking over for the starting pitcher, Senior Jaydon Benson. One of the game's highlights was a spectacular play by Sophomore Colten Burleson. He made a diving catch in left field and then threw the ball to Junior Jackson Clark at first base to double up the runner and end the game. This play saved the game for the Elks.

Burleson and Clark also shined on offense, driving in a total of three runs for the team.
