Track Teams Shine at OHSAA Regional Meet

The Boys and Girls Track Teams had a fantastic showing at the OHSAA Regional Track & Field Meet. The Boys team finished 3rd overall, while the Girls team finished 5th. The top four finishers in each event advanced to the State Meet next weekend at Welcome Stadium.

Here are the athletes from Centerville who qualified for the State Meet:

Boys Team:

The 4x800 Relay Team: Lucas Melzer (12th grade), Tyler Swan (10th grade), Daniel Emmert (11th grade), and Eric Bucher (12th grade). They finished 3rd.

Daniel Emmert: 2nd place in the 1600M Run with a time of 4:13.

Sopuluchi Anosike: 1st place in the High Jump at 6'4", 4th place in the 100M High Hurdles at 14.81, and 4th place in the 300M Hurdles at 39.29.

Girls Team:

Alyssa Grim: 2nd place in the High Jump at 5'4".

The 4x200M Relay Team: Lauren Jessup Aiken (11th grade), Ashlyn Rickert (10th grade), Samaria Williams (11th grade), and Sadie Disher (10th grade). They finished 4th.

Ann Lehmann: 3rd place in the Pole Vault at 11'4".

Congratulations to all the Centerville track and field athletes on an excellent season and to those who qualified for the State Meet. The Meet begins on Friday, May 31st, at 2:15 pm and continues on Saturday, June 1st, at 3:30 pm at Dayton Welcome Stadium. Tickets can be purchased online at for $16 for adults and $10 for students.
