The Varsity Boys Soccer team played an intense and exciting game against Lakota West during the Friday Night Futbol event at Alumni Stadium. Both teams fought hard, and the match ended in a 3-3 tie.
The game started with a lot of energy, and Junior Peter Evans got the Elks on the scoreboard first, scoring their first goal of the season at the 26-minute mark of the first half. However, Lakota West quickly answered back, tying the game at 1-1.
As the first half continued, Senior Xander Terrell made a big impact for the Elks. With just 8 minutes left before halftime, Terrell scored to give the Elks a 2-1 lead. He wasn’t done yet—just 4 minutes later, Terrell added another goal, making it 3-1 for Centerville going into the break.
In the second half, the Elks worked hard to maintain their lead, but Lakota West kept pushing. Unfortunately, the Elks couldn’t score again, and Lakota West managed to find the back of the net twice, tying the game at 3-3 with a late goal.
Even though the Elks didn’t come away with a win, the game was a great display of skill and determination. The Elks’ JVA team also had a strong performance, beating Lakota West 2-1.
