The Varsity Gold golf team had an outstanding performance at their own Lady Elk Invitational Tournament, held at Yankee Trace Golf Course. Competing against 19 teams, the Lady Elks emerged as champions, finishing with a team score of 313. North Canton Hoover was close behind in second place with a score of 315, and Springboro took third place with a score of 321.
Leading the way for the Lady Elks was Brigid Nickell, who played exceptionally well and finished as the Runner-Up in the tournament with a score of 74. Her teammates also put up strong scores: Nithya Nunna shot a 77, Ava Snow and Bekah Hartley each shot an 81, and Ava Bressler added an 84 to the team’s total.
The Lady Elks' Varsity Black team also participated in the tournament, finishing in 18th place. Norah Durbin led the Varsity Black team with a score of 95.
This victory is a great start to the season for the Centerville Varsity Gold golf team. They will continue their season on Sunday, playing in the New Albany Coed Tournament at Echo Springs Golf Course.
