The Varsity Girls Cross Country team had an impressive start to their season, finishing 3rd at the Buckeye Running Sunset Invitational, held at Oeder Private Lake in Morrow, Ohio. This was no small feat, as the teams that finished ahead of them were the 2nd and 3rd place teams from last year's state championship.

Leading the way for the Lady Elks was Claire Drylie, who set a huge personal record (PR) during the race. Mia Fry and Shayda Hart, who also set a PR, followed closely behind. Rounding out the top five were Ella Buckingham and Elena Von Handorf, who both ran strong races.

In addition to the varsity team's success, the Junior Varsity (JV) team had a solid showing as well, finishing 7th out of 11 teams. The top runners for the JV squad were Lila Yankush, Catie Duncan, Elaina Varhegyi, Bella Vaughn, and Stella Coppock.

Overall, it was a great start to the racing season for the girls cross country teams. The girls’ hard work and determination are already paying off, and there's no doubt they’ll continue to make strides as the season progresses.
