The Boys Varsity Gold Golf team had a tough day at the SWDAB District Championship held at Pipestone Golf Course on Monday. The top three teams and the top three individuals not on a qualifying team earned a spot in the OHSAA State Championship. Unfortunately, Centerville finished tied for 7th place, and no individual player advanced, marking the end of their season.
Casey Colton(Jr.) led the Elks with a 75, Caleb Whitt(Jr.) shot a 82, Rohan Reddy(Jr.) fired a 83, Michael Keller(Sr.) scored a 83 and Jakob Allen(So.) added an 85.
Despite the disappointment, the boys had a strong season and showed great improvement as a program. The team is hopeful that the returning players will challenge themselves in the offseason, competing in events that will prepare them for the pressures of future District Championships. With a lot of talent coming back next year, the Elks have a bright future ahead.
Great job, boys, on a successful season!
