The Varsity Boys Soccer team pulled off an impressive 2-0 victory over the #3 seeded Fairmont Firebirds on Tuesday night. The Elks dominated the first half, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Xander Terrell. Despite several chances to score, the Elks were unable to add to their lead before halftime.

In the second half, Fairmont played more aggressively, and neither team had the clear edge that Centerville had in the first half. However, Chinedu Nwokoro extended the Elks' lead with a header off a corner kick from Terrell with just under 19 minutes left in the game. The Elks' defense held strong, preventing Fairmont from mounting any serious scoring threats.

The win improves Centerville's record to 7-6-4, earning them a spot in the District Championship game. They will face Lakota West on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Middletown High School.
