The Girls Varsity Volleyball team made history on Saturday at Butler High School by winning their first District Title since 1998, ending a 26-year drought for the program. The Lady Elks achieved this thrilling victory after falling behind 2-0 to the Sycamore Aviators, losing the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 26-24.

But the team didn’t give up. They bounced back and won the third set easily, 25-10. In the fourth set, they were down 10-8 but rallied to take control and win 25-13, forcing a decisive fifth set. In this final set, played to 15 points, Sycamore took an early 2-0 lead, but the Lady Elks responded again, battling back to win 15-12 and secure the historic victory.

With this win, the Lady Elks improved to 21-3 overall and advanced to the Regional Tournament. They will play Olentangy Berlin at 8 pm on Thursday, October 31, at Central Crossing High School. Tickets are available online at or at the door with cash. Tickets are $11 for adults and $5 for students.
