The Centerville Elks volleyball team’s incredible season came to a close after a hard-fought battle in the regional semi-final against Olentangy Berlin. The Elks played with heart and determination, but fell short in three sets by a score of 25-22, 25-17, and 27-25.
Although the match didn’t go their way, the Elks have much to be proud of. They finished the season with a remarkable 21-4 record and claimed the GWOC championship as well as the District title.
In the semi-final, the Elks came out strong in the first set, keeping the score tight and pushing Olentangy Berlin to the limit. The set was close until the final moments, but the Bears managed to edge out a 25-22 win. In the second set, Olentangy Berlin gained some momentum and pulled ahead, winning 25-17.
The third set was a nail-biter, with both teams battling for every point. The Elks showed their resilience, pushing the set into extra points, but ultimately fell 27-25 in a thrilling finish.
Despite the loss, this team has had an unforgettable season. From big wins in the regular season to their dominance in the GWOC and District tournaments, the Elks have shown what teamwork, dedication, and effort can accomplish. Their achievements this year will inspire future teams and will be remembered for a long time.
