Centerville High School boys basketball tipped off their season in style last night, with all three teams earning victories. The Elks showcased hard work, poise, and skill across the board, setting the tone for an exciting year ahead.

The Freshman Black team started the evening with a strong showing against Lakota East. Under Coach Boykin’s leadership, the boys played with energy and determination, earning a 50-43 win. It was a great way to kick off the season for the youngest group of Elks.

Next up, the JV team took the court, also facing Lakota East. In a nail-biting overtime thriller, Coach Christenson’s squad showed incredible poise and teamwork to pull off a 54-50 victory. Their effort and composure set a great example for the rest of the program.

The varsity team closed out the night with a dominant performance against Andrews Osborne Academy. Coach Cupps had the Elks ready to go, and they secured a 59-44 win to open their season at 1-0. Ethan Greenberg led the charge with 19 points, while Cohen Ellis added 18 points and Eli Greenberg contributed 13. The Elks displayed a balanced attack and strong defense to earn the victory.

The varsity team will look to keep their momentum going when they travel to Toledo Whitmer for their next game on December 7th. Go Elks!
