Head football coach, Brent Ullery, has announced his resignation, effective immediately as the head football coach of the Centerville Elks. Coach Ullery will continue to teach math at the high school. This decision comes after leading the Elks to their best season in over three decades. A Centerville alumnus and lifelong supporter of the black and gold, Ullery has been a cornerstone of the football program, serving as head coach since 2017.

Under Ullery's leadership, the Elks achieved remarkable success. His teams won three Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) titles, made six playoff appearances, and won nine playoff games. Most notably, they advanced to the State Semi-Finals this past season, a feat the program had not accomplished in 33 years.

While these achievements are impressive, they only tell part of the story of Ullery's impact. Known for his dedication both on and off the field, Ullery has built lasting relationships with players and their families. His influence extends far beyond football, creating a culture of support and camaraderie that is evident to anyone who attends a Centerville home game.

It’s hard to imagine Centerville Football without Coach Ullery. His commitment to the players and the program has been unmatched. He bleeds black and gold and has left a legacy that will not be forgotten.

In addition to stepping down as head coach, Ullery has relinquished his role as assistant athletic director at the end of the spring season. This decision allows him to focus on his family. As a husband, father, brother and friend Ullery expressed the importance of being present for his loved ones.

"Coach Ullery has earned the utmost respect for his decision, while we are sad to see him go, we fully support his choice to prioritize his family.” said Athletic Director Rob Dement

Although Ullery is stepping away, he will remain involved with the program during the transition to a new head coach. Centerville’s incoming Athletic Director Brandon Hon and Coordinating Principal John Carroll are working together to ensure a smooth hiring process for Ullery’s successor.

The search for a new head coach will be conducted with great care, but the school community is confident they will find a leader who can continue to build on the foundation Ullery has laid.

Coach Ullery leaves behind an incredible legacy, and his impact will be felt for years to come. While the Elks prepare for a new chapter, the Centerville community will always remember the dedication, leadership, and passion he brought to the program.
