The Lady Elks varsity basketball team earned a thrilling 59-48 win over the Wayne Warriors on the road tonight. It was a true team effort, with every player contributing to the hard-fought victory.
Bella Keeton had an incredible game, leading all scorers with 19 points. Her clutch shooting and aggressive play helped keep the Elks ahead. Caroline McDowell was right behind her, adding 16 points of her own and making key plays on both ends of the court.
This win was even more special because it marked Coach Adam Priefer’s 400th career victory. Known as one of the best high school girls' basketball coaches in the state, Coach Priefer has a reputation for getting the most out of his players. His dedication and leadership have set the gold standard for coaching, and this milestone is a testament to his hard work and success.
“Coach Priefer never gets the credit he deserves,” said Athletic Director Rob Dement “He’s built a program that consistently competes at the highest level, and tonight’s win was a perfect example of that.”
The Lady Elks showed heart and determination throughout the game, overcoming tough moments and staying focused until the final buzzer. With this victory, the Lady Elks are 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the GWOC. The JV team lost to Wayne 55-26. The teams are back in action at home on Saturday against Miamisburg.
