The Lady Elks varsity basketball team put on an impressive performance at home Saturday, defeating the Miamisburg Vikings 63-42. The Elks came out strong, building a commanding 40-9 lead by halftime.
Caroline McDowell was unstoppable, leading the Lady Elks with 24 points. Halley Boeke added 10 points to contribute to the team’s success. The win improves the varsity team’s record to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC).
In junior varsity action, the Elks also secured a victory, edging out Miamisburg 46-43 in a close game.
Both the varsity and JV teams will take the court again during the Holiday Hoops Tournament at Lakota West High School. Here’s the schedule:
