The Centerville High School gymnastics team is off to a scorching start this season, claiming first place at the Cincinnati Country Day Cup on Saturday, Jan. 11. This marks the second consecutive team victory for the Elks, who also topped the podium at the Versailles Invitational on Jan. 3.
Versailles Invitational Results
The Elks dominated across all events at Versailles, showcasing their depth and determination:
• Vault: Ann Lehmann led the pack, finishing 4th, with strong performances from Paige Pearson (6th), Abbie Messinio (8th), Anna Kate Goheen (8th), and Lexi Latham (8th).
• Bars: Paige Rose dazzled, placing 2nd, followed closely by Paige Pearson and Sarah Sanders, who tied for 3rd. Abby Latham secured 6th place.
• Beam: Rose continued her success, finishing 3rd, with Lehmann (5th) and Messinio (10th) contributing key scores.
• Floor: Lehmann and Abby Latham tied for 2nd, while Rose and Pearson finished 4th and 5th, respectively.
Cincinnati Country Day Cup Results
At Cincinnati Country Day, the Elks again flexed their talent, earning top individual finishes:
• Vault: Paige Pearson and Abbie Messinio cracked the top 10, finishing 9th and 10th.
• Bars: Paige Rose shined once more, earning 3rd, with Abby Latham close behind in 9th.
• Beam: Rose placed 6th, while Leighton Easter joined the top 10, finishing 9th.
• Floor: Latham impressed with a 3rd-place finish.
