The Centerville Lady Elks basketball team earned a critical road victory on Wednesday night, defeating Chaminade Julienne 62-48 in a thrilling matchup. Senior standout Caroline McDowell was unstoppable, pouring in a season-high 30 points, including seven three-pointers, to lead the charge.
The game started strong for the Lady Elks, who jumped out to a 19-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. Their early momentum was tested in the second quarter when Chaminade Julienne mounted a 12-4 run. Despite the surge, Centerville regained control and entered halftime with a narrow 33-30 advantage.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Elks turned up the intensity, dominating both ends of the floor to outscore CJ by 14 points. McDowell’s hot hand, along with key contributions from Bella Keeton (17 points) and Amelia Davis (10 points), fueled the decisive run that secured the 62-48 victory.
The win improves Centerville’s record to 9-5 on the season and highlights their resilience and teamwork.
