After three consecutive ties, the Varsity Lady Elks got their second straight win Saturday evening against Oak Hills. The Elks played good possession soccer while the Highlanders looked to play the long ball. Centerbacks Charlotte Kunst and Brooklyn Larrymore defended this tactic brilliantly minimizing the Highlander’s threats. Midfielders Sophia Taylor, Gaby and Sammi Aydelott distributed the ball well to give the Elks some early chances. Twenty-one minutes into the half, Alexia Peterson and Audi Rhyner would build the ball out of the back connecting with Savannah Conner. Conner made the short pass to Sammi Aydelott for the Elks first goal. Despite the Elks out possessing, the Highlanders would tie the game 1-1 midway through the second half. A foul deep in Elk territory, had Taylor Koch serving up a free kick, where Leona Ciarlariello was in the box to trap it off her chest and pop it over the keeper making it 2-1. Minutes later, the Elks scored again off a great run by Conner who passed the ball to Audi Rhyner for the Elks third goal. The game ended 3-1 and the Elks improve their record to 8-0-3. They host Fairmont at Legacy Stadium on Wednesday, September 28th at 7:15 PM.

The Lady Elks JVA lost their game 2-1 on Saturday, September 24th to Oak Hills. Oak Hills scored first when they received a freekick a few yards outside the box in the first half and that shot went in untouched. The score would remain 1-0 until the second half when Khloe Isaacs finished a Lady Elks corner kick to tie the score at 1-1. Late in the second half, the Highlanders capitalized on a misplayed ball near Centerville's penalty box to score the final goal of the match and end the game at 2-1. The Lady Elks JVA will be back on the field to take on Springboro on Monday, September 26th at 7:15 at Wade Field.

The JVB Lady Elks also took on the Oak Hills Highlanders Saturday at home. The Highlanders were the 1st to get on the board. The Elks fired back with an assist from Madelyn Daily to Taylor Calvert to put the Elks on the board and tie the game 1-1. Minutes later Kaylie Hodendoorn had an amazing goal to put the Elks up by one. Oak Hills was able to get 2 more goals to take the lead. Chelsea Black made a wonderful connection with Taylor Calvert to tie the game once again. The Highlanders took the lead with a penalty kick from inside the box. Taylor Calvert was able to tie the game up with 2 minutes left in the half. The second half started with a tie game. The Elks' defense battled the entire game. Goalie Natayla Young had multiple great saves. The Highlanders took the lead and the Lady Elks came out with a 4-5 loss.
